No matta how crunchy you are (and I’m 74.36% crunchy mama), you gotta admit, we all want sparkly, pearly whites. Am I right or am I totally right? Whether you’re an avid coffee/tea/soda/wine drinker, smoker, hard candy or berry lovah, chances are your toofeses could uses a lil’ TLC in the brightening department. There are tons of teeth whiteners on the market, but THESE bad boys below are completely vegan and cruelty-free – HOLLA!
Vegan Teeth Whitening Products
Beaming White Forever White XL Whitening Pen, $59.95 – This natural, kosher and vegan whitening pen has advanced gel that whitens with less sensitivity than competing brands. It’s also super easy to use: just smile and brush on some gel. Teeth get whiter with each application. It’s perfect for touch-ups and on-the-go whitening.
Ingredients: Urea peroxide, glycerin, aqua, potassium nitrate, acrylates/c10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, mentha piperita (peppermint) oil, sodium hydroxide, disodium edta
Eco-Dent Extra Brite Tooth Whitener, $8.99 – This is more of a whitening toothpaste. It’s less abrasive than most whiteners and it neutralizes mouth acids, cleans teeth, and freshens breath without fluoride. You should expect to see results in 2-3 weeks.
Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda), Tartaric Acid, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate,

Rock Star White, $47.95 – This kit comes with 27 treatments! The formula is natural and uses the highest percentage of carbamide peroxide on the market while being safe for your teeth and gums. It comes with a custom fit tray, too. Not tested on animals. No Animal products. Kosher, Made in USA. Ingredients include carbamide peroxide and hydrogen peroxide.
Well Scent Sparkle: Natural Teeth Whitening and Whole Mouth Herbal Detox, $35 – This teeth whitener especially appeals to me because its rockstar ingredient is activated coconut charcoal (which gives it a black powdery appearance). I frickin’ love activated charcoal as I use it in a slew of vegan DIY beauty products. This teeth whitener supports immunity, oral and dental health and is antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral and antiseptic.
Ingredients: Activated coconut charcoal, Sodium Bicarbonate, sea salt, Commiphora Myrrha Oil, Plantago Lanceolata (plantain), Ceanothus americanus extract (Red Root), Azadirachta indica (Neem), Echinacea Angustifolia Leaf Extract.
Whitening Lightning’s Zero White Teeth Whitening Pen, $29 – This potent blend of botanical ingredients and baking soda is effective yet gentle enough for those with sensitive teeth. It’s super easy to use, too. Just dry your teeth, paint on the gel, and whiten while you sleep. I’ve been using this product for a couple weeks and have definitely seen results!

DIY Teeth Whitener – Strawberries (which contain malic acid which helps remove tooth discoloration) + a little baking soda (which acts as a buffer) = natural (and cruelty-free) tooth whitener! It’s fast, it’s cheap, and it’s super easy to whip together.
Ingredients:
- 1 ripe strawberry
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
Mash the strawberry and mix it in with the baking soda. Apply the mixture to your teeth using your toothbrush and leave it on for about 5 minutes. Rinse, and then brush your teeth with regular toothpaste to get rid of any gritty strawberry seeds and residue.
